Drums and Didgeridoos
The Didgeridoo (or Didjeridu or just Didge) is a wind instrument developed by indigenous Australians and still in widespread usage today around the world. A modern didgeridoo is usually cylindrical, and can measure anywhere from 1 to 3 m (3 to 10 ft) long, or even be rolled up, like our spiral didge. The length is directly related to the sound, generally the longer the instrument, the lower the pitch.
A Tongue drum (or slit drum) is a hollow percussion instrument - normally a log drum of bamboo or wood made with one or more slits in it. The slits or tongues are different lengths and produce different pitches.
The talking drum is a hourglass-shaped drum from west Africa - the pitch can be changed by squeezing the drum and mimics the sound of the human voice.
